Tools for Life

This section is inspired on Scott Hanselman Tool List. I’m a great fan of some of Scott’s posts and articles and I decided to create a similar list based on the my needs and experience. In this line of business we found ourselves using a lot of different tools, some useful than others. This lists the ones that I use more on daily bases:

  1. Miscellaneous Utilities
    1. BgInfo. Add information to your servers desktop background;
  2. XML/data utilities:
    1. XML Notepad 2007. Edit and view XML files made easy;
  3. Internet utilities:
    1. Fiddler – Web Debugging Proxy. This is my top tool, among other things, for testing REST based web services;
    2. Firebug – Edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page;

(this list will always be under construction)
